In this week’s style interview, we’d like to introduce you to our hot fashion expert Charlotte. She’s a blogger living in London and THE FASHIONGUITAR is her virtual diary about fashion, friends, travels, and other things that keep her busy. Besides being a full-time blogger and mum of little James, Charlotte is also Fashiolista’s no.1 contact in the UK when it comes to planning our party during Fashion Week in February!

Fabienne (F): So great to catch up with you again, Charlotte! Could you give us a quick intro about yourself?

Charlotte (C): I am Charlotte from Thefashionguitar.com, originally from Holland, but living in London with my boyfriend and little baby boy James. We only moved here a few months ago. I totally love living in this city since it’s one of the best places to be when you’re into fashion. Fashion Week is a highlight. Twice a year I feel very lucky to see some incredible shows. My blog is my true passion. After having worked in marketing for an online UK retailer, and many internships abroad, I decided to take my passion into my own hands and start a blog. That’s what I’ve been doing for over a year now and every day I’m still surprised by the amazing and lovely comments from my readers. They truly inspire me, besides fashion itself, to go for it every day! These days however, after just giving birth to James, I can’t blog on a daily base anymore. I hope to be back on track soon though!

F: How would you describe your style?
C: I am a causal kind of girl, BUT I do love to dress up. When I had my baby bump it was quite hard sometimes to dress the way I wanted, so my looks were definitely more casual than usual. Now I can go back to experimenting with looks, and styles. I can’t wait to hit the shops (online) and get some S/S12 stuff!

F: Speaking about shopping… Who is your favorite fashion designer?
C: I have a few, but for sure Isabel Marant, Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler, and Acne are high up on my list. However, I love to wear Zara and H&M too. It’s just great to combine designers with those two brands, and they make looking fashionable possible for everyone!

F: What’s your trend forecast for the coming season?
C: Pastel colors! I love this trend and it’s going to be big. Something else I totally love, and I am very glad it will stay for the coming S/S12 (I was already worried when I still had my baby bump that I had to miss out on this one) is the peplum look. It’s so elegant! Last but not least: Green nail polish.

F: What do you like most about blogging?
C: Sharing my fashion inspiration, and sharing a little bit about my life. Obviously it’s not only my clothes and style my readers like to see on my blog… I give them sneak-peeks into what I do in my daily life, and that gives us a connection.

F: When did you first fall in love with fashion and blogging?
C: Fashion is something I fell in love with when I was little. I can’t remember when exactly, but I do remember that I always did photo shoots with my little sisters. I dressed them, did their make-up and I always loved to help my girlfriends with shopping for their clothes.

F: Any interesting facts readers might not know about you yet, that you like to add to close this interview?
C: I have a baby boy called James (born 2nd January 2012). I was a goal keeper in field hockey when I was younger. I can’t make decisions very easily, which is quite hard when it comes to shopping.
