As her name already suggest (van Wonderen means ‘of miracles’ in Dutch), founder and director of the fashion website ilovefashionnews.com Annic van Wonderen is not shy of a little miracle. Fully selfmade, she started her goodrunning website with hard work, faith in herself and simple guts. After working as a freelancing stylist for several Dutch magazines, the twenty-something Annic decided it was time for a change. She launched ilovefashionnews.com; immediately claiming other names too, such as ilovebabynews.com, ilovebeautynews.com and ilovevacaturenews.com. And so it began.. Three days full of creativity and music.. It was the weekend of Solar 2010!
Solar is a crossover festival and has a diverse line-up of different styles of music, such as: techno, house, pop and hiphop. But that’s not all; the festival is all about creativity too! During the festival different groups of artists can show their work. But visitors can be creative too, as you can paint, write love letters and there was even an area where you can exchange all kinds of stuff. You can swop shirts, but also stuffed animals or a gigantic inflatable hammer.. Solar, a huge playground for adults…

Small town girls
I met the girls in a coffeebar in The Hague. They told me this was a daytrip for them as well, because they’re not from the city, but that they’re actually small town girls. Saar: “I guess ‘Fashion’ is not even a word where I live. I really stand out from the rest but that’s what I like. We like to put ourselves out there with our style”. Tess trusts me she definitely wants to live in Amsterdam or London some day: “I’ve been in London several times and I love the international atmosphere and the people are always so nice English ‘polite’”.
